Hiccup is a young Viking with a weak and thin complexion, the opposite of all other Vikings. That's why he's not allowed to fight dragons - not that he could anyway. At first, he wanted to kill a dragon to prove that he was a real Viking, just like everyone else. When he meets Toothless, however, that all changes. Now, he wants to prove to his tribe that dragons aren't cruel creatures. He's a creative and ingenious strategist and inventor. In the same way, he is kind and sarcastic, with a dry sense of humor.
