DreamWorks Animation is an American entertainment company based in Glendale, California, that produces a variety of animated films, series and shorts. It used to be DreamWorks Pictures animation studio, but it became its own separate, spin-off company in 2004. DreamWorks Animation is one of Disney's major competitors. Of the two, DreamWorks Animation is known for its edgier films: Most of its films involve adult subject matter – violence, social criticism, hidden sexual jokes, you name it! In fact, its first two animated feature films earned PG ratings.
